Ibiza is a legendary party island, with beautiful mediterranean beaches (check some out here), world class restaurants, and is home to multiple top 100 clubs in the world. Some refer to clubbing in Ibiza as the best party destination world-wide – especially since the number one club is located here. If you are planning to visit, you must make the most of your time while on the island and go to the clubs that match your vibe/the type of music YOU like!
Ibiza Clubbing at the Super Clubs
Ushuaia and Hi Ibiza
Ushuaia
These two super clubs are owned and run by the same company. They are also across the street from each other in Playa den Bossa. Ushuaia is an outdoor amphitheater experience that happens earlier in the day. Ushuaia opens at 5pm and goes until 11pm. There is a nighttime curfew for outdoor clubs at 11pm, which is why it closes so early. This is easily one of the most iconic clubs. You can get pictures of planes landing overhead right over the stage as you party away. Here you can listen to DJs like David Guetta, Calvin Harris, and Martin Garrix.
There is more house music played here than anything, and would be a great place to come to if you aren’t into the techno scene. You can hear music played on the radio and hits here, so Ushuaia is a great place for anyone to come for a generally good time. For me, Ushuaia is a must visit place while you are here in Ibiza!
Hi Ibiza
Hi Ibiza is the number one club in the world! It has been rated number one three years in a row, so it’s definitely a place you should consider going. Hi is a massive indoor club with a gigantic main room, crazy lights, and has a bathroom DJ upstairs. The music borders between house and techno, so it’s important to check out who is performing. Artists like Fisher, Black Coffee, the Martinez Brother, and David Guetta (again) are often on stage. Hi Ibiza opens at midnight and stays open until 6 or 7am. I find this club to get extremely crowded to the point where I don’t find it super enjoyable. While I personally prefer Ushuaia to Hi, both are options you need to heavily consider visiting while in Ibiza! If the music seems up your alley, you should go! If not, I think you can safely skip coming here.
Pacha
Pacha is also possibly the iconic club on the island since their cherries logo has become the symbol for Ibiza as a whole. This club has, to me, the best light show and decorations out of every Ibiza club. The attention to detail and copious amounts of color can keep anyone at any state of mind entertained. Pacha does not have the same high level lineup as Hi and Ushuaia does, but often has guest performers.
The music leans much more techno here, with DJs like Camelphat and Solomon, and guests like PAWSA, Tyga, and Diplo. Pacha also hosts Flower Power most Saturday nights. This used to be an iconic party in the 70s and 80s that’s been revamped this past year. It’s less techno music than other nights with amazing graphics, so it’s one of my favorite nights. Pacha is closer to Talamanca, to the right of Ibiza Town. For me living in Figueretas, it wasn’t plain and simple to get to compared to Hi and Ushuaia. Look at where you are staying and decide if you want to make a trip out of it! Pacha is an iconic stop on your Ibiza clubbing night out, so I would recommend visiting!
Amnesia
Amnesia is the last but not least of the super clubs. While on average it does not have the best DJ lineup, it has the BEST guests (in my opinion). This summer of 2024, Amnesia had Bizarrap (which I went to and was possibly my favorite clubbing night in Ibiza EVER) and a Charlie XCX boiler room that just passed. They don’t normally announce these guest appearances until a month to a few weeks ahead of time, so you’ll have to stay on the lookout!
Amnesia has a legendary Elrow party with possibly the most over the top decorations of any club as well as Bresh on Thursdays, which features mixes of nostalgic classics from the early 2000s. Unfortunately, Amnesia is a little more difficult to get to as you can’t simply walk there like the other superclubs. To get there you can take an Uber, a taxi, or the Party Bus (the night time routes of the public buses). For me, Amnesia is a must see while in Ibiza!
Ibiza Clubbing: Not a Superclub But Still Fun!
Lio
If you are looking for dinner and a show, or just clubbing, you can do either or both at Lio. The show attracts an fun and interesting crowd if this type of thing is up your alley (maybe look up some videos before deciding to go or not)! The clubbing is like no other, with lots of areas to dance all at differing heights, lots of trippy and different rooms to explore, and picturesque bathrooms, Lio is an experience no matter when you visit. This can be a fun spot – I would recommend stopping by here.
Club Chinois
Club Chinois is another great stop for clubbing without the hustle and bustle of being at a Super Club. Here has a large dance floor area and decorates to the nines for special events. They also have a staircase in the back that leads to a rooftop bar where you can smoke and chat if you need a break from dancing. Club Chinois is entertaining, but not my favorite. I don’t think you’ll miss out too much if you skip this one.
Playa Soleil
Playa Soleil is a restaurant on the beach that turns into a club at night. It has tons of outdoor seating and a bar on the sand. Inside there is a small yet mighty space to dance below the DJ booth and an upstairs to watch from as well. Playa Soleil is just a few blocks away from Hi Ibiza and Ushuaia, giving it great potential for your Ibiza clubbing itinerary! Is it a must see? You won’t miss out really if you don’t see it, but it can be a fun stop.
Cova Santa
Cova Santa is a restaurant that turns night club truly off the beaten path. It’s an outdoor amphitheater about seven kilometers between Ibiza and Sant Josep with tons of live music and shows. The vibe is a bit similar to Lio, with tons of people in costume putting on a show, but with more of a nature and hippie theme. While you can only get there via taxi or Uber, Cova Santa is a unique place to spend time on the island. If you have the time on your schedule – you should go!
DC 10
DC 10 is one of the most exclusive and hard to get in clubs on Ibiza. It has crazy themed parties; two of the most famous being Circoloco, circus themed, on Mondays, and Solid Grooves, which is casino or Vegas themed. DC 10 is located right next to the airport (check out my airport guide here), so if you are into clubbing all night long than catching your flight, this could be the place for you. While the odds aren’t great to get in, I would highly recommend trying to come club at DC 10.
Baloo
If the Rainforest Cafe and a night club had a baby, it would be Baloo! Baloo is a club located in Playa den Bossa that is open basically all year round (if you are coming to Ibiza in the winter Baloo is one of the best places to go)! This is a super fun place that has a bar with swings as chairs, animals everywhere, and has paella and bingo nights on Sundays during the off season. When I lived in Ibiza, this was a place I knew I could go and always have a fun and entertaining night. For anytime of year, I would recommend going to Baloo!
Swag
While I didn’t get the chance to visit SWAG Ibiza, I had to include it as it’s the only night club that plays tons of Afro Beats and R&B on the island. The Ibiza clubbing scene doesn’t have many places on the island where you can enjoy this kind of music, making Swag one of a kind. If techno and house music are not your scene, you definitely need to come here and listen to the kind of music you enjoy.
Age restrictions
All super clubs require you to be 18 years old minimum to enter. Local Ibicencan children start clubbing much younger than this, so if you know the workers, you can get in without age being a restriction. When I lived in Ibiza, it was truly a 50/50 shot if I would get IDed or not. At the smaller clubs it was a lot less often. There is also no age limit. When I lived in Ibiza, I had a friend who would go seek out all the older folk to befriend. She met two 70-year-olds in a week’s time span.
Ibiza clubbing is truly for all.
Promoters
Lots of people want to find a promoter, but more likely is that a promoter will find you! In most hotels, there will be one or two people in charge of selling club tickets and excursions. They will likely have deals for smaller name clubs to get in for free or to get a free drink. If these promoters work for the hotel, they will most likely not have deals on super clubs – only promoters employed by a super club can get you free entry or a deal.
The way I found a promoter employed by Pacha was when I was sitting at a bar and they came up to me and my friends. She offered a free ticket to Pacha Flower Power, and I went for free. People will come up to you on the beach, at a restaurant, really anywhere, and try to invite you to clubs. There isn’t a method to the madness or a way to find them, besides potentially deals posted by the clubs themselves. You also might be able to find promoters on Instagram who can add your names to a guest list. This is normally for a very limited number of clubs and not often for super clubs. And you should always be careful when talking to strangers online!
What to Wear to the Clubs
Before I moved to Ibiza for a year to teach English, I was stressed about what to wear! I was worried how many times I would repeat each outfit and how to make each outfit seem new and different to me when I went out. I quickly got over that when I saw what people were wearing out.
Since people come from all over the world to club here, there are very many different outfit styles you’d see. I’m American, and the majority of the people would be British I would see (and hear SO loudly). Many of their styles seem like early 2000s homecoming dresses, so tight body con dresses with block heels.
There is a large influencer population wearing tiny sparkly tops and bottoms that you wonder, how they are covered while they are dancing?
You will see everyone dressed very differently for the same occasion at varying levels of formality, tons of them outfits you would never wear, some are the most beautiful outfit you’ve ever seen and you wonder how much it costs.
The moral of the story for Ibiza clubbing is you can genuinely wear WHATEVER you want to the clubs. As long as you look cute and feel comfortable, that’s all that matters.
My go to outfit was a skirt and a little top. For me, I would always wear some kind of platform or heels on my feet. Since Ibiza is quite hot, I would always wear something tiny on top with a skirt or a dress. Here are two of my favorite outfits. The pink top one I wore to Ushuaia and the blue top one I work to Amnesia.
Drinks And Their Costs
If you are going to a super club, all drinks with alcohol will be decently expensive. Most start at 18/20 euros for a cocktail and 13 euros for a beer. For me, living off Spain’s minimum wage, that wasn’t in my budget – especially when a beer at a normal restaurant is 3 euros. I personally would go to the grocery store and buy alcohol to drink before hand. Unfortunately, the smaller clubs are not normally much cheaper with their drinks!
Before coming, look at your budget, if you have one, and decide which works better for you!
To say you’ve clubbed in Ibiza is in itself – a flex! Hopefully with this guide you can go to the clubs that have your type of music and fit your vibe. If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out!
Happy clubbing!
